A Word on Organizing As most of us are aware, staying organized is the most difficult task to achieve. It appears to be the most temporary task that we do. Our desks are clear, our filing is done we sit back and take a breath, and here comes the mail or a new project and the cycle repeats itself. There is a very fine line to staying organized, if you miss a beat, you can become overwhelmed. Remember, this is an ongoing process, do not get frustrated, you need a routine that will help you stay organized. I happen to be one of the lucky ones, my mother; “Kitty” was a terrific organizer, an astute businesswoman, the first female International President of the Association for Systems Management. I remember joking about her shoes and how they were all labeled by color, type-suede, silk, then sorted into seasons and color. Well, have you heard “mirror, mirror on the wall, I am my mother after all”. Since not all of us have been taught organization (I don’t believe it is inherited) there are many Professional Organizers to help you get started. You can contact the National Association of Professional Organizers – NAPO at www.napo.net to find someone near you. |
