Organization Can Get You an "A" in School and in Life
You have your piles of paper with your identifying labels on them.
Use one pile as your example. What you have called this becomes your Main Category.
This will be the Main Tab, which will be centered in the Hanging File Folder (5 slots in).
What this pile includes becomes your Sub-Categories, which make up the tabs on the left hand side of your Hanging File Folders.
In the example below “Dental” has become a Sub-Category included in the Health folder, which is in the Main Category Insurance.
Using this format/procedure you can create your folders according to the method you have chosen. If Insurance is a Category, it goes in front of Utilities, this keeps the all of the categories in alphabetical order and easy to find. In kind, the sub-categories should also be in alphabetical order to make them easy to find.
